Thank you to all my jewelry friends for hanging in there with me all this time. As you can see I totally deserted my blog since last fall. So many things happened and I just wasn't up to blogging. But now spring is here and things are looking up. I've got lots of new jewelry and a couple of parties lined up. Click on the links on the right to see some samples of my jewelry. I have way too much to put it all on here and it's hard to keep removing things as they sell so I'll just give you a little taste of what is available. The best way to see my jewelry is have or come to a home jewelry party. It's lots of fun and there's always something new. If you'd like something special made just for you please let me know. I'd love to work with you. I love doing special orders for family bracelets with the birthstones of all your family members on it. Each one is unique and very special. Can summer be almost over?

I look forward to summer so much and then it just flies by before I know it. It makes me sad to think about winter coming. But we get to enjoy fall first and that's a blessing. It's time for fall jewelry. Halloween will be here soon so I better get busy. I'm working on polymer clay for Halloween/fall. I'll post as soon as I'm done...if it's good.

Beads For Life

If you're not familiar with the Bead For Life Program you can read about it here: http://www.beadforlife.org/. Basically, it's a program that allows Ugandan women to lift themselves out of extreme poverty and provide the basic necessities of life for their families. They make beautiful beads by hand out of donated magazines and newspapers and sell them through this Bead For Life Program. The beads are beautiful and it's a wonderful cause.

Most of the jewelry I've made can be worn either as a necklace or wrapped around your wrist 2 or 3 times as bracelets. No two are alike. They'll all be for sale at my next party or you can email me for prices if you're interested.

Hooray for Spring!

Hooray!! Spring is just around the corner. I'm really tired of cold, dreary, rainy days. We're getting a little preview of spring this week but I know there's still a little more cold to come. I have a spring party coming up this month so I'm busy making new spring and summer jewelry with lots of bright and pastel colors. Hooray! I finally had a chance to make some spring/summer jewelry. These are a few little pendants that were quick to make up. I got my workspace all organized and my beads all sorted so now I'm anxious to get to work. I have so many ideas that I want to try. I never thought I would find anything positive in having to take furlough days, but I've decided those days are going to be my time to create. I have a party coming up in the next month or so and I really want to have some new, fun, summery things ready. I'll post more pictures soon.

Jack's German

I should have been writing down all the cute things Jack says but somehow I never got it done. I have written a few things but not nearly enough. Yesterday he informed me that he speaks German. Pretty good for 4 years old. So I asked him to speak some German for me. He proceeded to say 'Hello Arda, how are you today?" in a very deep voice with a heavy heavy southern drawl. After I bragged on his German he told me he was going to speak Spanish-German. Then he proceeded to count to ten in Spanish in that same deep, very Southern drawl. I didn't even realize there was a Spanish-German language and I bet you didn't know it either. The things we can learn from our kids.

2009 - A Year of Possibilities

I'm not the greatest blogger around because I forget to update my site. But I'm going to try and do better this year. I even started a 365 project...again. I tried it once before and gave up before January was over. If you don't know what I'm referring to you just take a picture every day of the year so you can look back and see what caught your eye. I take a lot of pictures anyway but I don't usually do it more than once a week. I think it will be fun if I can remember to do it.

I stopped making resolutions a long time ago but I do promise myself to do better at certain things. I don't even think about the losing weight resolution because I know that's going to fail. BUT I will try to do better.

The biggest change I want to make in my life this year is to be more like Jesus. I want people to see his love and compassion in everything I say and do.

It can't be Christmas already!

Every year I say I'm going to start earlier and it never fails...I start later and later. At least the house is decorated but shopping, that's a different story. Of course I've finished with Jack, my grandson, but so far nobody else is getting anything! I guess I'll be fighting the crowd this weekend with everybody else in the world. Next year I'm going to do better...right.
